Key annual events include:

Mid-Winter Dinner

The Board of Trade’s Mid-Winter Dinner is an annual event that is widely regarded as one of the premier business events of the year. This black-tie, member-only gala attracts more than 1,200 business and community leaders as well as regional elected officials. The 2008 Mid-Winter Dinner is scheduled for March 6 at the Hilton Washington. Attendees typically include senior executives of large and mid-sized member companies, entrepreneurs and heads of small companies, civic and not-for-profit community leaders, elected officials, and members of the media. Board of Trade Recognition Dinner

The Board of Trade Recognition Dinner (formerly known as "Leader of the Years") is an annual black-tie event recognizing outstanding service to the business and community of Greater Washington. A tradition for nearly 60 years, the Board of Trade Recognition Dinner honors one individual for contributions to the business and community interests of Greater Washington. Attended by approximately 300 individuals representing all economic sectors, last year’s dinner honored Pat McGuire of Trinity (Washington) University. (members only)

Golf Tournament

Each year, the Board of Trade’s Golf Tournament attracts business executives for an enjoyable and challenging day of golf and networking. Joined by tournament sponsors, beverage cart hosts, hole and tee sponsors and many other friends of the Board of Trade, this event is an outstanding way to reach a wide range of members. Outlook Conference and
Greater Washington Initiative Annual Meeting

The Outlook Conference and Greater Washington Initiative Annual Meeting is an annual event held in June which kicks off the release of the Greater Washington Initiative’s signature Regional Report and features panelists discussing current economic trends in the region. This event, held at a new location around the region each year, is attended by approximately 200 individuals representing both the public and private sectors. Attendees typically include senior executives of large and mid-sized member companies, entrepreneurs and heads of small companies, civic and not-for-profit community leaders, elected officials, and members of the media. Fall Business Classic

After the traditional Washington summer break, member companies of the Board of Trade reestablish important acquaintances at the Fall Business Classic. Held in the region’s most interesting and classic venues, this event brings together over 800 senior business, association and civic leaders from throughout the region for a reception of elegant food and beverage, solid networking and old fashioned deal-making. Small Business Network Dinner

The Small Business Network Dinner is an annual event that celebrates the participation of small firms and entrepreneurs and the contributions of larger companies in Small Business Network programming. It recognizes participants of the Contracting Connections, Workshops That Work and Academy series and reconnects small business owners who have benefited from attending these programs. (members; non-members)

Sponsor Reception

The Sponsor Reception is invite-only cocktail event to thank sponsors of Board of Trade programs and events from the past year. (Complimentary for sponsors)

Annual Meeting

The Board of Trade Annual Meeting, a yearly tradition since 1889, concludes the calendar year recognizing the accomplishments and challenges of Greater Washington’s business community. This luncheon attracts prominent speakers, elected officials, members of the media, and more than 700 members, including senior executives of large and mid-sized member companies, vice president and partner level, entrepreneurs and heads of small companies, and not-for-profit community leaders. Chair’s Dinner

The Chair’s Dinner is an annual invite-only black-tie event recognizing the outgoing Chair of the Greater Washington Board of Trade. This event is for members of the Board of Directors only.
