As the leading regional chamber of commerce, the Greater Washington Board of Trade convenes business, civic and government leaders to collaborate and address trade issues that impact businesses across the District of Columbia, Suburban Maryland and Northern Virginia.

Pro-business and bipartisan, the Board of Trade is leading the business community in shaping and advancing a vibrant regional economy. We develop positions on issues with the basic premise that sound, reasonable policies balancing the needs of business with the interests of the community, will benefit the economy and the community at large. Your membership and involvement make all of this happen. Through our partnership, we have:

  • Prepared employees for Metro’s SafeTrack with extensive documents and resource materials;
  • Coordinated important research and consistent lobbying to balance the non-stop push for Leave legislation in the District, mitigating regional implications.
  • Partnered with the Council of Governments to identify export opportunities for Greater Washington companies and determining how to attract more international commerce to diversify the regional economy.

The Board of Trade is clear on the priorities for connecting this region; making smarter use of existing infrastructure; and creating ways to use the vast regional resources in ways that improve the overall quality of life in our community.

Through your membership and with our combined resources we are able to create programs that provide actionable guidance that can improve your business. Our annual collaboration with other Chambers brings together the two state Governors and DC Mayor for our Capital Region Business Forum, and our Outlook Conference features key thought leaders and economists. This forum offers an inside look at trends and opportunities impacting the regional market, with a special focus on major industries – such as real estate, tourism, transportation, energy, construction and cyber – as well as the most pressing issues and legislation that will shape how you will do business in the coming year.

2018 will be another a critical year throughout Greater Washington. The Board of Trade will be right there for you, ensuring that our challenges are minimized, and our opportunities are clear.
