Transportation & Environment Committee

Our region has the nation’s second worst traffic congestion. This adversely impacts Board of Trade members’ business costs, employee recruitment / retention, air quality, and overall quality of life.

The Transportation and Environment Committee (TEC) represents the interests of the Board of Trade’s membership on the issues of efficiently moving people and goods and quality of life in the Greater Washington region. It is co-chaired by Jon Peterson (The Peterson Companies) and Mike Anzilotti (Virginia Commerce Bank). The TEC members represent all aspects of transportation and meets every other month.

Transportation and Environment Committee Roster

Activities supporting the environment and quality of life have been primarily focused on the Clean Air Act conformity requirements for new transportation infrastructure. Candidate activities include support for cleaner water by working with the Chesapeake Bay Foundation to improve our region’s waste water disposal systems, assistance in resolving regional water supply issues, and participation in ongoing noise abatement review in conjunction with the Washington Metropolitan Airports Authority.
