Help Secure Dedicated Transportation Funding in Virginia
The Virginia General Assembly will consider raising new dedicated transportation funds – including new funding for Metro – when they reconvene in late September. These funds are required in order to match the federal funds for Metro being advocated in Congress. There are two opportunities for you to help:
1) Write to the House Finance Committee
The Virginia House Finance Committee is key to passage of legislation to secure new transportation funding. Please use this sample letter to customize on your letterhead. Please mail this letter to as many members of the House Finance Committee as you are comfortable with since they will consider legislation on Tuesday, Sept. 26. 2) Trip to Richmond
The Board of Trade is organizing a bus trip for business leaders to go to Richmond on Tuesday, Sept. 26 to walk the halls and to attend the House Finance Committee meeting. This will also be an excellent networking opportunity for Board of Trade members. Buses will leave from several points in Northern Virginia and one from the Board of Trade at 7:30 a.m. and will leave Richmond at approximately 2:30 p.m. More Info>>
