Board of Trade Members Join Comptroller-Elect’s
Transition Team

 

November 21, 2006 -- Peter Franchot, Maryland’s next comptroller, named seven members of the Board of Trade to his transition team, including Chair-elect Barbara Krumsiek, president and CEO of The Calvert Group.

Franchot, a state delegate from Montgomery County, won a surprise election victory for the influential statewide position. The comptroller is the chief fiscal officer for state government and sits on the powerful three-member Board of Public Works, which approves all major state contracts.

The transition team will be chaired by Montgomery County Executive Doug Duncan and former Maryland Governor Harry Hughes. The team will meet over the next 4-6 weeks and make recommendations to Franchot on organizational structure, personnel and policy matters.
