Board of Trade Releases Virginia Legislative Agenda. In time for Virginia’s new leadership to consider following the Nov. 8 elections, the Board of Trade’s Executive Committee approved a detailed legislative agenda Tuesday. The agenda outlines the organization’s positions on key priorities including transportation, tax reform, higher education, and health care. Review agenda Read press release
Transportation Planning Board Funds Priority Projects. With strong Board of Trade support, the National Capital Region Transportation Planning Board voted recently to provide $2 million to fund CapCom, a new regional system requiring the coordination of information on traffic incidents and road construction, to help reduce traffic congestion and clear stoppages. Other priorities included in the TPB’s long-range transportation plan include: the InterCounty Connector, Rail to Tysons and Dulles, and study of the Virginia portion of the proposed “Techway.” Details
Wellness Works Fitness Campaign Gears Up for Finale. Congrats to the 2,100 active employees from 104 companies participating in the Board of Trade’s Wellness Works program! All members are invited to celebrate the success of this first-year program at a finale event on Nov. 16, 5:30 p.m. at The Sports Club/LA in DC. There will be free dance lessons, massage, basketball and more. RSVP
