On Friday, all members will receive an easy-to-complete email survey. Please take time (about 5 minutes) to give us feedback on the Board of Trade’s programs and priorities. Your comments will assist us plan most effectively for 2007! Survey results will be summarized in Across the Board next month.

Advocacy Matters
Encourage Your Employees to Vote on Election Day.
The outcome of the general elections scheduled next Tuesday will be critical to our region’s business community. Please encourage your employees to vote on Nov. 7. For a list of candidates endorsed by the Board of Trade’s Maryland PAC, click here.
Advocacy Efforts Focus on Metro Funding.
Last week, the Board of Trade and the Business Transportation Action Coalition gathered government affairs, transit and Capitol Hill lobbyists to map out a strategy for Senate passage of Rep. Tom Davis’ dedicated funding bill for Metro (H.R. 3496). The Davis bill will be considered by the Senate during its reconvened session beginning Nov. 13, so legislative meetings are underway. Candidates for DC School Board President Respond to Members’ Questions.
Recognizing that fixing DC schools will benefit the entire region, the Board of Trade’s DC PAC sponsored a forum for candidates for DC School Board President. At the Oct. 27 program, Robert Bobb, Timothy Jenkins, Laurent Ross outlined their plans and responded to numerous questions. More info
