President Bob Peck to Leave Board of Trade. After four productive years as Board of Trade president, Robert A. Peck announced his intention on Monday to resign; he said he has enjoyed his time at the Board of Trade but now wants to pursue other opportunities in the private sector. The Board of Directors has asked Bob to remain in his post while the organization begins a search for his successor. The good news? Bob will be around until at least year’s end and will remain in the Washington area. Read Statement
Regional System for Transportation Information Approved. The National Capital Region Transportation Planning Board approved legislation for CapCom, a regional system to coordinate information on traffic congestion and construction projects. CapCom, a long-time transportation priority of the Board of Trade, will share information across jurisdictions with the aim of reducing congestion and supporting organized, effective evacuations. Board Passes Resolution Supporting United Way Campaign. In a resolution passed last week, the Board of Trade’s Executive Committee expressed strong support for the United Way of the National Capital Area and encouraged members to support the 2005 campaign. Read resolution
