Inter County Connector News: Long-term Transportation Priority Moves Toward Reality.
This week’s announcement of the route for the ICC, connecting Montgomery and Prince George’s Counties, represents another transportation victory for the Board of Trade and for the region. Governor Ehrlich’s selected route has long been in the plans and preferred by the Board of Trade and other business groups. ICC opponents will likely file suit, but a fall 2006 construction start is still possible. Next steps: A “Final Environmental Impact Statement” will be completed by the fall; then, Federal approval is expected. Questions?
