VA Gov. Tim Kaine Urges Area Execs to Support Significant Transportation Funding.  At a breakfast event jointly hosted by the Board of Trade and NVTC today, Gov. Tim Kaine stressed the need for significant transportation funding to alleviate traffic congestion in the state’s fast-growing areas. He urged the friendly crowd of 400 tech and business leaders to tell their legislators: “There’s no excuse for inaction; do not come home from the legislative session empty-handed.” He also responded to questions on issues ranging from Medicaid to telework. Potomac Conference, Feb. 23-24, to Address Region’s Future Growth.

Board of Trade Supports MWAA Proposal to Bring Rail to Dulles. A resolution passed yesterday by the Board of Trade’s Executive Committee urged the Virginia Department of Transportation to ensure that a proposal developed by the Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority (MWAA) is given priority consideration. The resolution cites MWAA’s extensive experience in major construction projects and the potential for cost savings. Questions?
