The Holocaust Remembrance Project is a national essay contest for high school students designed to encourage and promote the study of the Holocaust. Now in its 14th year, the Project receives essays from thousands of students each year and awards scholarships ranging from $2,500 to $10,000 to the top 10 finalists. In addition, those 10 students join a select group of high school educators and Holocaust survivors for a week-long encounter of learning in Washington, D.C. The Washington, D.C. experience culminates with the annual awards ceremonies at which the top scholarship winners are announced. This year’s awards luncheon will be on Thursday, July 17, 2008 at the Ritz-Carlton Hotel in Washington, D.C. The Emcee for the event will be Kris Van Cleave, a Reporter for ABC 7/WJLA-TV and NewsChannel8. More information
