Washingtonian Magazine is proud to announce the launch of Washingtonian Custom Media (WCM)

WASHINGTON, D.C. – November 9, 2011 - The Washingtonian, Washington’s top source of information for dining, shopping, entertainment, and personalities is proud to announce today the launch of Washingtonian Custom Media (WCM) and the new appointment of Cliff Chiet as the president of the new division.

Publishing companies, like The Washingtonian, around the nation and the world, have realized that they can take the same experience and quality talent that they use to publish their own award-winning title publications and provide those same content marketing services to help others.
By partnering with The Washingtonian for custom publishing needs, organizations will discover many benefits including: savings on production costs, freedom of staff to focus on other priorities, access to the industry’s best designers, editors, writers, and photographers as well as The Washingtonian’s 45+ years of experience and guidance in defining brand.
According to a 2011 independent study by the Custom Content Council, 9 out of 10 CMO’s believe that custom content has a positive effect on people’s attitudes, strengthening their bond with customers and leaving them feeling more favorable toward their company. More than 86% continue to believe that their customers understand that custom content is a selling mechanism, but don’t care as long as they are receiving useful information.
WCM will serve clients by publishing magazines, pamphlets, and books that help them communicate with their customers, colleagues, and employees. WCM will primarily focus on targeting key industries, including Associations/Non Profits, Health and Wellness, Entertainment, Hospitality and Tourism, Business and Education. In addition to offering publishing services to their customers, WCM will also extend digital media options including video, website publishing, webinars, and e-letter services, as well as mobile and social media campaigns.
The Washingtonian has named Cliff Chiet as the President of the new division. Chiet, a local publishing veteran, spent the last 16 years as a vice president of sales and a publisher at Post Newsweek Media, a division of The Washington Post Company.
“I am very excited about utilizing both my prior experience and know- how and The Washingtonian’s dynamic resources to allow us to tell our customers’ stories best, the way it deserves to be told, through custom magazines and digital media,” stated Cliff Chiet, President of WCM.
